The Black Voice is presenting its first documentary, "We The Vision" on Feb. 22. This is a free, public event.
"We The Vision" will be presented at Marquee Cinema in Union South on Tuesday, Feb 22, 2022 at 6 p.m. Following the screening, there will be a brief discussion with the film's director, Nile Lansana, and other TBV members and alum. Refreshments will also be provided.
“We The Vision” is the tale of our publication's origins, influence and legacy told by many of the voices who have shaped its success. The documentary commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Black Voice, which was during the 2020-21 school year.
The Black Voice was originally founded in 1971 and was revived as a digital publication in 2015, growing a little bit every year. Currently, the publication is now a registered student organization at UW-Madison and comprises seven executive board members and more than 30 alumni.
