"The Road to Reconciliation: A Conversation with the Anderson Area Remembrance & Reconciliation Initiative" The Anderson Area Remembrance & Reconciliation Initiative seeks to: Honor victims of racial terror and reflect more honestly on the history and legacy of racial and economic injustice in Anderson County.Raise awareness and inspire action through dialogue, community education, and public memorials. Encourage change in policies that will eliminate social and health disparities and move us toward the goal of a "Beloved Community". This event will be moderated by Trey Walk, Senior Fellow, Equal Justice Initiative, Montgomery, AL. CONNECT is an annual diversity and inclusion symposium hosted by AnMed Health in partnership with local business, industry, and civic allies. If you like, engage before you join! This documentary offers an intimate portrait of the remarkable Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and is told primarily through his own words. The film chronicles Bryan Stevenson’s struggle to create greater fairness in the system and to show how racial injustice emerged, evolved, and continues to challenge the country, and it encourages viewers to join him in creating a new and brighter future.
