Discovery Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics is an established, patient-focused pediatric dental practice in Carlsbad, looking to add another positive, patient-centric, and energetic RDA or DA (in the process of becoming an RDA) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is looking for a career as a dental assistant and NOT a temporary job placement and is looking for a long term position. Requirements: Full-time positionRegistered Dental Assistant LicenseDental assistance experience (Preferred)X-Ray Certification (Preferred)Team player, willing to help others. Responsibilities: Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort.Select and set up instruments, equipment, and material neededSterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to regulationsTaking records, impressions, or x-raysUndertake lab tasks as instructedProvide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions at the direction of the dentistMaintain a sterile and well-stocked dental roomMaintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, HR policies and practices)Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Skills needed: Proven experience as a dental assistantKnowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methodsUnderstanding of health & safety regulationsThe ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus.Good computer skillsExcellent communication and people skillsAttention to detailWell-organized and reliableHigh school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.Dentrix software experience (a plus, but will train if needed) Compensation and Benefits: Pay: $21 - $25 per hourHealth InsurancePaid holidays, vacationIRA (90 days waiting period may apply)-Employee DiscountJob security with a long-standing office Schedule: Monday to FridayDay Shift Join our fantastic team!
