Join us for An Evening with Eric Andries Jazz Pianist Eric Andries, Piano Jazz Stylist. Enjoy jazz standards? New, original songs? How about smokey club blues? Ever wonder what an opera aria would sound like in Bill Evans style? Or maybe what would have happened if Beethoven had listened to the Beatles after a Dave Grusin concert? What about a 90s grunge song as Oscar Peterson might have performed it? Eric Andries can do all this and more – he even improvises upon request. You will be amazed, delighted, and definitely entertained. Eric, the rehearsal accompanist for Mobile Opera productions, has been known to jazz up all kinds of songs. He has a wide range of musical experience in many genres. Over the past few years, he has been the pianist for several opera companies, including Des Moines Opera, Amarillo Opera, Opera Omaha, Hidden Valley Opera Ensemble, Shreveport Opera, Mobile Opera, Syracuse Opera, Indianapolis Opera, and the Ashlawn Music Festival. In addition, he is an avid jazz pianist who has worked with Princess Cruise Line as a piano player for the showband. He was also the keyboardist/arranger for a Baton Rouge salsa music group featured at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he holds degrees from LSU in piano performance and has studied abroad in France and Austria. The Peoples Room of Mobile, formerly known as “The Listening Room of Mobile” features the finest local, national, and international singer/songwriters, storytellers, and musicians in an intimate setting where both artist and audience connect in a clean, quiet, and comfortable setting. The rooms focus is on the artist. Outside distractions and talking over the artists are not allowed. We offer beer, wine, and Coca-Cola products for your enjoyment. *We are primarily a concert venue, and so while we do offer limited selection of beverages, we do not currently offer a food menu.*We are located at 78 Saint Francis St., directly across the street from the fabulous historic Battle House Hotel in downtown Mobile.We hope to see you soon!
