A Backyard Guide for Beginners! Join us to learn about the maple syrup making process.
Travel through various stations in Bloomer Park with Outdoor Engagement staff to learn the first steps to make your own maple syrup. From identifying various species of maple tree, to the tree tapping process and sap boiling setup. You'll leave with all the knowledge you need to make your own syrup as well as a spile, tubing, bucket, filter and a bottle of fresh maple syrup! This program is held rain or shine so come dressed for the weather and a walk through the woods.
Recommended for age 12+
*Participants will meet at the Pine Grove shelter. Please arrive on time as program content starts promptly and participants often venture out into the park. As a courtesy to wildlife and other participants, please leave your pets at home. Content such as changes/maps will be sent via email leading up to the program. Pre-registration is required.
