MAPLE GROVE, MN — Morgan Turner, a Maple Grove native and former Wayzata soccer star, has signed on to play for Minnesota Aurora FC during its inaugural season. Turner was the fourth player signed by the new women's soccer team as it works to build its roster ahead of its debut in the USL W League in May. Her contract with Minnesota Aurora must be approved by the league, the team said last week. "I couldn't be more excited to play for this team!!" Turner tweeted last week, thanking the team for the opportunity. Turner played more than 60 games for DePaul's women's soccer team and earned multiple All-Big East and All-Region honors. She is the fourth-leading scorer of all time for the DePaul's women's soccer program, with 31 goals during her collegiate career, including 14 game-winners, according to statistics from the team. Former Vanderbilt goalkeeper Sarah Fuller was the first player to sign for Minnesota Aurora. Days after helping lead Vanderbilt's women's soccer team to an SEC championship in 2020, Fuller became the first woman to play in a Power Five college football game.
