Associates Insectary has immediate openings for full-time insect rearing workers at its Santa Paula facility. No previous insect rearing experience needed. Individuals with practical experience working in production nurseries, commercial greenhouses, or other farming operations may have many of the skills required for this position. Duties vary daily and can include: preparing, cleaning and sanitizing rearing rooms and equipment, tending to plants and insects in rearing rooms and greenhouses, collecting and packaging insects for shipments, and releasing insects in local orchards. Coursework in the life sciences is helpful in order to better understand the rearing cycles of the various species grown here, but not required. Applicants should be dependable, detail oriented and comfortable working in typical commercial greenhouse and insectary work environments, it can be hot and dirty work. This position is 40 hours per week with some over-time and occasional weekend work. We are looking for full-time employees, but will consider part-time applicants D.O.E.
