DUBLIN, CA — A 36-year-old Dublin Police Deputy and mother of three died Saturday morning in a "severe medical emergency," the city announced Monday. Dublin City Manager Linda Smith has ordered all City flags to fly at half-staff until the day of her burial. Aubrey Phillips, a Dublin resident who had been with Dublin Police Services for 7 months and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office for five years, was conducting a traffic stop at about 1:46 a.m. Saturday. While Deputy Phillips was sitting in her car, an assisting officer saw that she was in "severe distress," and started life-saving efforts, according to a city news release. She was rushed to Stanford Valley Care Hospital in Pleasanton, and then transported to John Muir Medical Center. Doctors were not able to save her. As a registered organ donor, her organs will be donated to others in need, the city said. "We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Deputy Phillips," Dublin Mayor Melissa Hernandez said in a statement. "Our hearts go out to Dublin Police Services, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, and to her family, especially to her husband and her three children. They are part of the Dublin community and, as fellow community members, we need to come together and support them through this unimaginable tragedy." Phillips had three children, all of whom attend school in Dublin. Her husband is a Dublin Police Deputy, and her father is a retired Alameda County Deputy Sheriff, according to the city.
