All elementary, middle, and high school students in the city are invited to join in showing "Nature in Johns Creek," according to a news release. A variety of submissions will be featured on the City's social media and website. A handful of finalists will be selected by city of Johns Creek staff, and the winning selections (one each from an elementary, middle, and high school student) will be selected by Mayor Bradberry and displayed at Johns Creek City Hall. The deadline is April 11. Participants can submit 2D art pieces that can be paintings, drawings, multimedia, or digital illustrations. "The purpose of this art is to identify and show us what you find inspiring about the nature in Johns Creek," stated the release. "Inspiration may come from the walking trails at Newtown Park, a fish in a stream at Autrey Mill Nature Center, the playground at your school or your own backyard. Use those ideas and create your masterpiece! Students need to 1) be inspired and create their favorite nature-themed masterpiece 2) digitize their file by taking a (horizontal) picture or scanning it and 3) submitting their work through the city website at: www.JohnsCreekGA.gov/artcompetition. All art is due Monday, April 11.
