GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County School District wants to know how it should handle the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the launch of an online engagement platform, ThoughtExchange, families and staff can anonymously provide feedback. The district asked: "What mitigation strategies, practices, or procedures should we consider as we adjust to living with COVID-19?" Participants' identities are protected. Once they agree to the terms, they're asked to review the current mitigation strategies before sharing their own ideas. Visit the website here. "To help slow the spread of COVID-19, GCPS applies a range of multi-layered mitigation strategies —adding and layering strategies when the spread of infection in the community increases," the district said. "These practices are designed to help promote healthy and safe schools and worksites for students, staff, and visitors, and to help keep our students in school and learning in person. "Please review the current range of mitigation strategies used by Gwinnett schools and then share your ideas for what mitigation strategies, practices, or procedures should be considered as we adjust to living with COVID-19." Many of the top responses say that people should stay home when they're sick and wash their hands. As of Tuesday morning there have been more than 23,000 comments and 552,000 ratings.
