The semi-trailer involved in the Tuesday morning wreck (photo by Ryan Phillips, Patch.com) At the scene, a jackknifed tractor-trailer could be seen in the middle of the normally-busy highway, while a little more than 100 yards to the south, an SUV had apparently been engulfed in flames after coming to a stop in a ditch. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a press release Tuesday morning that the call of the wreck came in at 6:09 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Responding agencies included ALEA, Carroll's Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Northport Fire Rescue, the Northport Police Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office. The northbound lane was reopened just after 10 a.m., ALEA said in an update. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
