A Clinton connected tech firm captured DNS data from the Trump Organization. That is not the kind of data hackers go after. DNS stands for Domain Name Services and all it gives you is the IP of the domain name you type into your browser or emai. It can tell you where someone is going on the web or who they're contacting but it doesn't give you the contents of the email or anything else. It's a red herring and it's not remotely illegal.
