DAVIDSON, NC — In person, early voting for the Nov. 3 General Election begins Thursday, Oct. 15 for voters in Davidson and throughout North Carolina, and includes races for offices ranging from President and Vice President to register of deeds. During the early voting period, absentee voters may also deliver their completed mail-in ballots to an election official at early voting sites. The absentee ballots will then be securely delivered to the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections. How long will early voting last?Early voting begins Oct. 15 and will be available at 33 sites every day until Saturday, Oct. 31. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Where do I go to vote?There are 33 early voting locations in Mecklenburg County for the Nov. 3 General Election. McDowell Street, Matthews How do I register to vote or update my voter registration?Voters may register to vote for the 2020 General Election and vote the same day at the same location during early voting in North Carolina. Same-day registrants must attest to their voting eligibility by completing a voter registration application, and provide proof of residency through showing one of the following: a North Carolina driver's license; a government-issued identification; a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document showing the voter's name and address; or a current college/university photo identification card with proof of campus habitation.
