He was hatched the way chicks should be: in a nest, under his real Mama, and was raised by her in the barnyard and open pasture. Chasing bugs and worms, and playing with his siblings. A barnyard cross of Rhode Island Red and Black Star. 6 months old. We always, always keep 1 rooster in our flock to protect our hens from predators.
