I will be vending at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival at Hampton Roads Convention Center, Hampton, VA. I am looking for someone with an engaging personality to work in my booth with me, waiting on customers, cutting fabric, keeping things straightened up and helping out where needed. My booth can be very busy and hectic, so I need someone who can think on their feet and take initiative. You will be on your feet the entire time, so comfortable shoes or sneakers, but no blue jeans. This is not a "sales pitch" job where you need to convince customers to buy. You definitely need stamina. The first day, Wednesday, February 23 is to help with setting up my booth, so jeans or other comfortable attire is fine. The last day, Sunday, February 27 is for sales and help packing up the booth.
Sales are done on an IPAD, so there is no cash register to tell how much change to give a customer. You must be able to count back change without the use of a calculator, etc. Therefore, you must be extremely good with math/numbers.
The job is Wednesday, February 23, 11-4, Thursday, February 24 through Saturday, February 26, 10-4 each day and Sunday, February 27, 12-6. Pay is $16/hour.
Only apply if you can work all days and are good with math.
This show gets more than 10,000 people. You will need to give yourself plenty of time to get to my booth in time because of traffic and the volume of people. Also you will need to bring lunch and drink with you, as there will not be time to leave my booth to purchase lunch somewhere.
