DAY PORTER (Manhattan Beach) compensation: 16.00-17.00 employment type: full-time JOB TITLE: Day Porter DEPARTMENT: Custodial REPORTS TO: Supervisor SUMMARY: Keeps designated & assigned facility in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. Primary service areas are entryways, lobbies, restrooms, and common areas (elevators, hallways, and stairwells) kitchenettes, exterior areas in and around parking structure and fitness center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas. · Cleans and polishes fixtures, surfaces, trim, drinking fountains, and wash entrance glass doors, mirrors, piping, doors, etc. · Cleans and polishes all entry door glass metal work and transoms. · Spot cleans all lobbies throughout the day including the security guard stations · Sweeps and mops floors. · Spot and or vacuum rugs, carpets, hard surface flooring and upholstered furniture. · Vacuum carpeted and hard floor areas. · Spot clean carpets (Identify any carpet spots that do not come up with regular spotting methods to the supervisor.) · Polishes metalwork. · Spot cleans windows and partition glass · Empties wastebaskets and cleans to remove any spots spills or scuffs · Places new liners in waste cans and transports trash and waste to disposal area. · Spot clean doors, light switches, counters, walls, etc. · Dust mop tile, wood, and cement floors. · Damp mop tile, stone, and cement floors. · Replenishes bathroom supplies. · Spot cleans restroom including sinks, mirrors, counters, floors, toilets, and urinals · Spot clean doors, light switches, counters, partition glass, walls, etc. · Report to their supervisor any areas that are not possible to clean due to access, buildup, or deferred maintenance. · Responds to daily emergencies as directed by the facilities department · Ensure that your custodial closet/area is always neat, organized, stocked and clean (free from clutter, debris, waste, non-specified equipment, food.) and in good working condition. Always report to your coordinator if equipment is not working or damaged. · Ensure that your cleaning equipment is always kept clean, organized, and stocked at the end of each shift. · This position does not perform any facilities maintenance functions or duties such as but not limited to light changing or ballast changing, plumbing, roof work, electrical work, breaking down of pallets or office furniture.
