Looking for a dog 6 months -3 yrs

We are looking to adopt a dog breed doesn't matter except no pitbulls or pit mixes insurance won't cover them unfortunately. Have checked with shelters but would rather adopt one that someone can give me background on. We are looking for larger size dog prefer already spayed or neutered but that isn't a deal breaker as we can have our vet take care of it. Must be good with little kids as well as cats and other dogs. We have a 9 yr old neutered lab that lost his buddy in June of last yr. We are not looking for designer or papered. Our budget is $200. I have checked with the shelters and local rescues and will continue to check in with them.
