The Day Porter position is a combination of hands-on housekeeping and hospitality. Southeast Janitorial (SEJ) prides itself on constantly exceeding customer expectations through dedicated and consistent work. In this position, you will need to be adaptable on the job as well as keeping an eye out for any impending issues. The locations that we are cleaning are the workplaces and living areas for our customers, so we are looking for people who are prideful in their work. DUTIES Complete projects/tasks in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. Complete daily, weekly and monthly jobs timely and accurately Maintain the appearance of the indoor common area effectively Constantly observe as you work the designated area assigned to you and immediately correct what is needed for highest sanitation and quality appearance. Remove trash from all common areas assigned to you on a daily basis & upon request to include offices. Help maintenance by responding to work request spotted by tenants such as spills, leaks, flooding, removal, cardboard, and other miscellaneous waste items and dispose or store as directed. Report any electrical issues that need to be fixed. Keep an eye out for general lacking in appliances or atmosphere. Physically walk the property on a frequent basis to ensure pathways to units/models, stairways, trash chute, recreation areas, common areas, offices, grounds adjacent to the road and walkways remain clean and free of litter and debris at all times. Assist with special duties as requested by management Ensure timely and prompt attendance and punctuality Complete any tasks given by the team leader on location in a timely matter Be observant for or report any problem that could be hazard or potentially dangerous situation for residents, staff, guests and the public. This includes condition door entry or exit, gates, objects, electrical, trip hazards, etc. Display a service-oriented mindset at all times maintaining courtesy and diplomacy with residents, colleagues, management, vendors and all external customers. Work duties to do daily high/low dusting, sweep, vacuum, mopping, emptying trash, detailing, polishing, sanitizing, cleaning top to bottom kitchen appliances & restrooms, removing cobwebs, spot cleaning, glass cleaning frequently, restocking supplies, removing marks or stains, gum removal in following areas hallways, lobbies, stairwells, elevator, and other common interior areas. You MUST maintain proper hygiene and wash hands at all times. Duties may include cleaning or doing special projects such as events, set ups, guest suites, disinfecting, changing appearances of household items, reachable window cleaning, and organizing. Must have both janitorial closet and cart well organized and clean at all times for your convenient and your supervisors. Education/Training: Hospitality services Comprehensive Knowledge of safety and hygiene practices and regulations Chemicals & tools. For safety purposes must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual Spanish skills for read, write and communicate effective are a plus Experience: 6 months or more preferred Day porter or housekeeping Skills and Knowledge: Ability to prioritize and organize your daily work responsibilities Ensure excellent service standards to maintain high level of resident satisfaction Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to make decisions and problem solve Cooperatively Communication Integrity Dependability Attendance: Maintain regular and punctual attendance Work overtime No Call Off's Abide your schedule Clock In & Out on time Be well-groomed in uniform PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Employs two person lift when lifting/carrying objects that weigh more than 50 lbs Ability to carry, push and/or pull, stoop, stretch, kneel, crouch and/or crawl Significant amount of walking throughout the day Climbing up and down stairs Ability to work in hot, cold and/or damp environments Use of general janitorial equipment Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
