CORNELIUS, NC — Officers made three arrests this week in Cornelius on charges that included driving while impaired, assaulting a woman and possession of a stolen firearm, according to the police blotter. Police also received five reports of crime this week, for incidents that included two cases of larceny, a case of fraud and a vehicle break-in. Arrests made by Cornelius Police Department between Dec. 9 - Dec. 15, 2020: Dawn Whisnant Simms, 61, was arrested Dec. 12 at Lake Pines Drive and Parma Drive, charged with driving while impaired Robert Adam Tackett, 30, was arrested Dec. 14 on Liverpool Parkway, charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon Jacob Wade Gobert, 21, was arrested Dec. 15 on Sterling Bay Lane, charged with two counts of assault on a female and communicating threats.
