I am a local business owner in Charleston SC looking for someone who is reliable, has great work ethic, and puts customer needs first before all. I am looking for someone who has or has not had field experience as a necessity to apply, a quick learner, someone that I can show proper ways to do the jobs undertaken and skill them up to become a lead technician. This would mean running a van and a crew of two others. Starting out, pay would be $20 per hour and this would grow as you could do more jobs on your own and increase more when you were promoted to lead tech to run a van/projects on your own. This is a job that would start out on a part-time basis and grow into full time work as your experience grows. Please see below for full description. Our cleanups range from crime scenes to hoarding situations, unattended deaths, mold remediation, and several other home restoration services. Apart from the services list below, other duties may be assigned: • Crime scene cleanup • Drug lab and meth lab testing and cleanup • Hoarding cleanup and psychological support services • Mold remediation and removal • Rodent dropping removal • Crawl Space Cleanout • Tear gas cleanup • Odor removal • Biohazard disinfection and decontamination, including many viruses Description: We are seeking a technician who is hardworking, compassionate and has a strong desire to help families in need. As a technician, your workdays will range from cleaning up after police have cleared a scene, to helping victims of hoarding de-clutter their houses. You may also assist in light home restoration, learn to remediate mold and water jobs, or decontaminate and clean former meth houses. It’s always a different challenge and something new everyday. While prior experience in construction, demolition, restoration, carpentry, and comparable industries are desired, it is not required. Applicants should have experience in the use of hand tools (or be willing to learn) as this job is both cleaning and demolition at times. Requirements: • Must be physically capable of moving furniture and equipment and working in the heat wearing PPE • Must meet at the job site in your own vehicle or be able to meet along the route • Work may be during nights, weekends-depending on the situation • Must have a valid drivers license and criminal history fully shared • Job will also include non-hazmat cleaning, for example: painting, stocking and receiving supplies, and participating in community relations. • This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, must be able to work independently and should grow into supervisory responsibilities of a van crew • This position requires the vaccination for Hepatitis B. Cost of vaccine is provided by employer if employee has not had the vaccination • Employees are required to be trained per OSHA requirements in Bloodborne Pathogens. The cost of this training will be provided by company • Knowledge of personal protective equipment found in 29 CFR1910.132 through 1910.138. Training will be provided by company • Abide by all OSHA, DOH, and company safety rules and regulations • Employees are required to be trained in properly cleaning and use of a respirator including fit checks in accordance with OSHA Respirator Standard 29 CFR 110.134.
