POWDER COATING TECHNICIAN COMPANY SUMMARY American Dry Stripping & Powder Coating (ADS) is a surface preparation and surface finishing company located in Milford, CT. In business over 35 years with a solid growth history, ADS is a third party outsourced abrasive blasting (sandblasting), powder coating and ceramic coating services provider to manufacturing, construction, fabrication, automotive and other trade industries, including a business to consumer market segment component. HIRING OBJECTIVE ADS is looking to fill a FULL TIME EXPERIENCED POWDER COATING and CERAMIC COATING position. This is a long-term position with advancement opportunity for the right candidate. POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, ability to learn, think about tasks at hand and a focus on quality workmanship. Perform all shop related tasks necessary to successfully complete incoming jobs as described. Job duties: • Prepare surfaces to be coated and mask as needed • Optimally hang parts in preparation for efficient coating operations • Set up and maintain equipment (spray guns, booth, filters, etc.) Operates equipment and machines in accordance with specific operational and safety instructions • Prepare ceramic coating mixings • Apply coatings following specifications as per customer instructions, follow quality control and production processing procedures • Identify quality control issues and recommend solutions to quality challenges • Remove the product from the racks and disperse to the proper location. Wrap and package products correctly to be shipped and/or picked up • Spray powder onto parts using correct techniques to assure even, consistent and optimal coverage. • Examination of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality control • Maintain proper housekeeping and keep all equipment and workspaces neat and clean POSITION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Previous powder coating experience IS A MUST • Previous ceramic coating a plus • Aptitude for and MOTIVATION to learn and take direction • MUST BE: o Responsible, reliable, dependable, punctual o Honest and trustworthy o Possess shop environment common sense o Able to work as a member of a team and working alone o Lifting or moving materials/parts over 75 pounds o Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions o Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and tolerate hot temperatures for extended periods o Must be able to tolerate wearing PPE o Regular attendance is required.
