Hope-filled education for caregivers meeting the needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care.
First Baptist Church of Medford is excited to host Hope for the Journey Conference with simulcast content from Show Hope. Hope for the Journey Conference brings together proven, practical teaching and insight as well as everyday, hopeful wisdom designed for parents and caregivers meeting the needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care.
Parents, extended family and friends, teachers and other professionals, and anyone seeking to come alongside children from these backgrounds are encouraged and welcome to attend. For the churches and organizations seeking to serve these children and families, you will gain a better understanding of the complex needs of caregivers serving these children along with resources to equip you in your walk with them.
Our day will include four learning modules based on the principles of TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) and the work of Karyn Purvis (author of The Connected Child), long considered one of the gold-standards in caring for children touched by adoption and foster care, along with a fifth module focusing on the gospel and TBRI. This one-day conference can count towards 7 hours of continuing education for foster parents.
Cost for the day is $8 per participant. We will provide you with a workbook as well as lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Please contact Tara Leiby directly at [email protected] or 715-613-2578 with any dietary needs. Childcare is not provided at this event.
