Description

The Maestros of Tomorrow Eight international conductors lead each movement of three masterful works at our second-annual maestro exhibition. Cindy McTee’s perpetual and energetic Circuits opens World’s Fair with 21st-century American fervor. “Extraordinary” (Washington Post) Cuban-Spanish pianist Leonel Morales displays the romance and lyricism of Piano Concerto No. 2 by Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. And Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony brilliantly blends Czech folk music with Black and Indigenous melodies to create something uniquely American. See and hear the maestros of tomorrow from the DPO International Conducting Workshop on March 5. We’re opening our doors early at 5:45 pm for two special performances of Dvořák’s sunny Serenade for Strings. As at the main concert, each movement of the piece will be conducted by a different conductor taking part in our workshop. Conductors: Lawrence Golan, Gary Lewis and DPO International Conducting Workshop & Competition Conductors Piano: Leonel Morales McTee: Circuits Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 in E Minor “From the New World” We love music — especially live music. We’re passionate about supporting others who feel the same way, be they musicians, patrons, or volunteers. We’re dedicated to ensuring that the world’s great symphonic compositions are performed, heard, felt, understood, appreciated and valued in the Metro Denver area — and that they are presented in an accessible and approachable way. Oh, and attending one of our concerts won’t break your bank.
