Join us as we travel the globe tasting sherry finished whiskey and tequila
Welcome to our Whisk(e)y of the World Series on Sherry Cask finishing. In this class we will explore the magical transformation of aging in sherry casks. This is a concept first introduced and perfected by our good friends in Scotland. Since the inception of sherry cask finishing it has also taken off here at home in the American whiskey segment mainly with bourbon. Recently however, we even found an Anejo Tequila from Patron that has been aged in sherry casks.
We will begin our journey south of the border with Patron Cask Collection Anejo Tequila aged in sherry casks. Next we will hop over to Scotland, and sample the classic Macallan 12 which has been aged in a combination of American oak and sherry seasoned European oak. We’re going to stay in Scotland with our third sample and taste one of our absolute favorites - The Balvenie DoubleWood 17. This is quite possibly one of the best expressions of Scotch period.
Last but not least we will land back here at home with our very own Western Reserve Distillers Oloroso Sherry Finished bourbon and Middle West Spirits Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon.
We hope you will join us for this very special Whisk(e)y of the World Tasting!
