We perform all repairs and maintenance in-house. Duties include/ but are not limited to: - Tires - Brakes - Clutches - Rear-ends - Electrical - Maintenance - Quarterly/Annual 90-day BIT Inspections Experience with working on Freightliner Detroit Engines and welding experience a plus. Job type: Full-time Experience: • Freightliner Detroit Engines: 1 year (Preferred) • Mechanical Knowledge: 1 year (Preferred) • Knowledge of DOT Truck Requirements/BIT: 1 year (preferred) Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:  Inspect and repair heavy-duty 10-speed Freightliner Cascadia units and trailers to meet DOT inspection requirements  Perform Preventative Maintenances promptly. Replacing items such as oil and filters, tires, and other related parts  Perform overhead tune-ups on all types of company-owned Freightliner Detroit Engines  Diagnose electronic diesel engine control systems  Replace and/or repair air compressors, water pumps, fan hubs, belts, power steering, and other external engine parts  Troubleshoot and repair heavy truck air brake systems, a/c and heating systems, electrical systems, trailer components, and transmissions  Inspect trailer components and make repairs to hydraulics, and other trailer parts  May be required to operate a company vehicle to diagnose and repair equipment as part of a road-side service call  Effectively and efficiently communicate with internal staff and shop associates  Operate a forklift  Welding – Preferred but not required  Other duties as assigned
