Moderate intensity hike; participants must be able to walk over rocky, uneven ground.
Who is Invited: Open to ages 8 and over; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
When & Where to Meet: Arrive no later than 8:45AM. Meet at the Visitor Center by the rainwater harvesting tower. Be advised that the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and there may be wait time at the fee booth. Plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 8:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 9:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring: Sturdy shoes; sun protection and at least one liter of water PER PERSON strongly recommended.

Registration, Fees & Cancellation: Registration is required! Group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations. Registration opens on Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event. Natural Area entry fees apply.

Friends of Government Canyon is made up of a growing group of active volunteers who take pride in the work we do — from grooming trails to facilitating education programs to advocating the protection of the Aquifer and numerous resources found within the boundaries of the Natural Area. We are hikers, naturalists, artists, mountain bikers, runners, researchers, clean water advocates and in general, lovers of the outdoors with one common mission; protecting and preserving the Natural Area.
