Need - Shed builder / Framer / Handyman to build a 8 X 15 shed
Jobs
Sacramento CA
Description
I’m looking to build a 8 X 15 shed in my backyard and would like somebody to build it for me. Due to scheduling this project won’t start until mid March. You should have all the tools for the job but there will be power on site. I will have build area clear of wood and old/existing fence(as seen in the picture) near the back of the other shed. The brown shed picture on this post is pretty close to what I want(except the eaves won't be so pronounced or even exist on two sides, just couldn't remove them in my render). The red picture shed is taken from the plans which is close but doesn't have some of the modifications as described below. The Project and location The spot it’ll go will be real tight so precision and experience will be key. The ground is dirt and might be a bit damp from being winter so it should be easy to dig. I would like for the shed to be placed on at least 9 solid concrete blocks (16”W x 8”L x 2”H) with pea gravel used as the base. 3 blocks across each skid(4x4's, must be pressure treated). Pea gravel holes should be at least 1” deep. The blocked foundation is not in the main plans but needs to be included to ensure a solid foundation. The blocks should all be level before the foundation is built. Plans I have an attached diagram of where the shed will be located on the property. The shed plans can be found below using the hyperlinks to Plans and Materials Page 1, 2, and 3. However I will need some modifications to the way I’d like it built which will require a bit more material. I’d like for you to bid for the full job + general materials OR “full job but labor only.” (Alternatively, if you have a limited employment status of $500 or less per job then we might be able to work something out in phases, but please let me know in your inquiry) I’d like you to pick out and transport all materials to the site. Would like you to work continuous days. I’d like the plans to be kept to as much as possible except for the modifications spoken to below. Plans and materials page 1: Plans and materials page 2: Plans and materials page 3: (trim only needed) The “Shed Location Diagram”: Please see the “new shed.” The Gray lines represent the windows. The door is there too. See below for more details on the specs in the materials list. Modifications/additions: I don't need the shed to be 8 X 16 but 8 X 15. Entry door(one door) will be inward opening. There will be two windows installed. Please plan any additional materials accordingly to account for these. See the diagram for location approximates. The exact locations for the Windows and Door may alter slightly. You will need to include general, door, and window trim in the quote(unless you’re quoting only labor). The entry door: Looking at the entry door it calls for walls that are only built for a custom door. (much lower than a normal door) I will not be using the custom door but rather including the prehung door (listed below in Custom Materials). Because of this the front wall needs to be adjusted to fit a prehung door. I will let you adjust things accordingly but do try to keep to the plans as much as possible. Ie, if the font wall frame needs to be higher than the top frame needs to be shorter. I just need the door installed. I will do the hardware myself. Windows: Two windows to be installed. See materials list for sizing. The render will show approx. location. Painting: Since you can purchase t1-11 from the store primed I’d like one additional coat before the walls are put up(regardless I will need the t1-11 to have a primer coat and top coat). I say this because once the walls are put up there will be little to no room to get a sprayer, let alone a roller between the tight area. I just need the t1-11 painted, not the trim, door, or interior. (Side note, because I’m looking for someone who is super detailed please mention the word “orange” in your inquiry when submitting your inquiry about this job) If needed, I can help you lift the walls into place once painted. I’m expecting middle grade paint quality(color to be similar to existing shed, stock color okay) and spaying it would be fine. Rafters and Roof: Rather than the 2X4 rafters I’d like 2X8 installed. This is a bit different to what’s in the plans so I’ll need you to adapt this to the plan. I would also like the rafters boxed in at the top and bottom(to keep things tight and sealed). Since using a larger size rafter the t1-11 will need to be adjusted from the plans to fit the larger space. I would also like 30 yr shingles. General Materials: I will let you pick your own wood, pea gravel, screws, nails, paint, tar paper, and asphalt shingles, and other general building materials but please keep to the plan list as much as possible. You will be free to get the materials from wherever you’d like. I’m expecting you to include all general materials needed in your quote(I don’t need it line itemed, just be sure to factor it in), unless you're bidding the “Full job but labor only.” I have chosen Custom Materials(see below) that I will order and pay for but need for you to pick up(at Home Depot near the site) and bring to the site. Custom Materials(I will pay for this regardless): Door Window #1 29.5(Width) X 35.5(height) 33” above floor Centered Window #2 35.5(Width) X 35.5(height) 33” above floor Please provide a quote for one of the options below. If you need more information then just let me know. Quote (pick one option) Full Job (includes your time + materials + transport (less the Custom Materials purchase, but still need transport) - If you choose this option you’ll be providing a single quote for everything that the build needs, except Custom Materials cost. But, I will still need you to pick up the Custom Materials from Home Depot OR “Full job but labor only” (includes your time + materials pick out(I will pay for them) + transport (Custom Materials transport too) - If you choose this option then you’ll be providing a single quote for how much you’d like to charge for your labor only. I will pay for all materials but would still want you to pick out and transport them. Things I need to know when inquiring: Need to know your payment terms About how many days you might think it’d take Pictures of work you’ve done Your name, phone, and good time to chat Anything else that might be relevant Thank you for taking the time to read.
