Description

Our biannual fundraiser. We welcome everyone to join us for tea, contemporary British treats and learning to curate a charcuterie board! Did you know that Mother's Day isn't the same day in every country? In Britain it falls in March, and in 2022 it's March 27th. Please note that this event is open to everyone, not just mothers. But for our biannual tea fundraiser we thought it would be a fun theme and in line with our mission to share how Britain celebrates mothers day. We are offering two ticket types: 1. British Tea Admission 2. British Tea Admission + Charcuterie Board Supplies (we recommend that each participating group purchase at least one of these types of ticket). As always we'll have tea on hand in our vintage dishes. You'll also enjoy contemporary British treats that'll make you feel like you're taking tea in London. Jasper's home made Sangria will be available for purchase in the tasting room! After tea service, a local chef will talk through coordination, presentation and tips and tricks for creating your own charcuterie board at home. Participants that have purchased a ticket that includes Charcuterie Board Supplies will design their board as the chef goes and then take their arrangement home to enjoy. All tea participants are welcome to listen and learn from the presenter whether they have purchased board supplies or not. As always we'll have a festive selfie stations and we will also bring back our silent auction, featuring multiple unique items. All attendee will be entered into a raffle for an event themed gift basket! The ticket cost of this event is used to cover costs and then any additional money raised is used to produce Iowa European Cultural Connection Events, including Cristkindlmarket Des Moines (CDM). CDM will be celebrating it's 7th year as a non-profit run and volunteer operated outdoor Christmas Market in Des Moines the first weekend of December 2022. This event and CDM are volunteer run. We will follow all recommended CDC Guidelines reagrding Covid-19. At present masks will not be required but are encouraged. Tables will be social distanced and seating will be assigned with groups being seated together. Please let us know if you have any food allergies to be aware of. *If you are a mother or are coming with your mother and would like us to provide a little celebratory note at their seat please add that in the comments. **If you're attending with a friend but purchasing tickets separately please note that in the comments for your ticket. We connect Iowans with European traditions, language education and cultural experiences. Our signature event is Christkindlmarket Des Moines, a European-style Christmas market which takes place at Principal Park.
