Come enjoy music, art, the film premier of A Wicked Silence and more as we celebrate the return of Spring! On the First Friday of April, we kickoff the parks’ busy season by celebrating the return of Spring, marked by the year’s first lighting of Janet Echelman’s hanging sculpture, Where We Met, as it returns from winter hibernation. This year, we will unveil a new color scheme for the iconic aerial sculpture, in partnership with Echelman and the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro’s Public Art Endowment. The event further celebrates arts in the community via an artist market, first friday activities (including our Community Drum Circle!), and the film premier of our 2021 Artist in Residence project, A Wicked Silence by Alexandra Joye Warren. At this premier, Warren will symbolically ‘pass the torch’ to our 2022 Artist in Residence, who will be revealed at the event. For more information about Spring Blooming, please visit our website!
