Description
We are a once-and-future-gigging ALL 90s cover band currently looking to replace bass player who recently had to leave the band. Essential details below.
The Band: A five-piece outfit (female vocalist, male vocalist/rhythm guitar, bass, drums, and, of course, lead guitar). We're serious about what we're doing, but not so serious that we forget to have fun. We put on a fun show, playing ALL 90s music, rock, pop, grunge, and even some hip hop on occasion. This is a band that can play both Nirvana and the Spice Girls in the same set.
We're still trying to get our legs under us in this post-pandemic world. And, we were picking up speed again until this omicron business happened.
Before all that, we played shows all over the DMV. We're all between mid-30s and mid-40s, and we practice as often as we have to in order to be ready to perform. Sometimes that's multiple times a week -- if we're bringing a sub or new member up to speed -- other times its once or twice a month, if every member and setlist are good to go. We don't shoot to copy every song directly from the radio, we put our own stank on just about everything, except when doing so would be blasphemous (example: You don't improve the guitar solo on "Smells Like Teen Spirit").
You: Someone who likes what they're seeing above and is ready to fit in seamlessly. That includes liking the idea of playing in an ALL 90s band and the genres listed. Good enough chops to play the parts and add some gusto when needed. Ability to sing some harmonies -- and some occasional leads if that's your jazz -- would be a plus. Ability to play some keys every now and again is probably a pipe dream, but would also be a plus.
Please respond -- preferably with some clips, recordings, etc. -- if you're interested.
