LAKELAND, FL — A well-known Cuban sandwich shop that has been in Lakeland for 36 years will be closing soon, WTVT reported. Owner of the Silver Ring Cafe, Tim Altman, told the TV outlet that the commercial landlord will not renew the lease forcing it to shut its doors in August. It opened in Munn Park in 1986. Lakeland's downtown scene is changing, according to the landlord, Kate Lake. Lake believes opening this space will create an opportunity for a new type of business.
