ROOSEVELT, NY — A Roosevelt man was taken into custody early Sunday for robbing a 7-Eleven, police said.
Danefield Bourne, 42, charged with third-degree robbery, was arrested after an investigation.
He is accused of stealing two-12 packs of beer from a 7-Eleven on Nassau Road in Roosevelt. The store clerk said told Bourne they wouldn't sell alcohol at that time, causing him to argue with the worker, detectives said.
Bourne reached for his back pocket and the clerk noticed the handle of a weapon, police said.
He left with paying and fled on foot.
No one was injured and Bourne was placed in custody near Anna Avenue and Williams Street. He also faces charges of second-degree menacing and criminal possession of stolen property. Bourne was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
