ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Eleven people were stabbed across Albuquerque on Sunday and a suspect is in custody, police said. Police said the mass stabbing involved seven possible scenes stretching from downtown Albuquerque to Central Boulevard SE and Wyoming Boulevard NE. Officers were called around 11:15 a.m. for a stabbing near Central Avenue and 5th Street NW. A man was slashed in the hand and taken to a hospital. All victims were in stable condition, police tweeted. Gilbert Gallegos, spokesman, for the Albuquerque Police Department, told the Albuquerque Journal at least two people were in critical condition. He said the attacks appeared to be random and the suspect was riding a small bicycle. "The offender was reported to be riding a small BMX bike, and armed with a large knife," Gallegos told the Journal in an email. The suspect wasn't immediately identified.
