EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Rotary Club honored East Haven High School students Izabella Olszewski and Amelia Westfall as their November and December 2021 Students of the Month. "These intelligent and hard-working young women," are juniors at EHHS, according to the Rotary. Olszewski is a member of the high school Art and Yearbook Clubs, a junior class officer and a member of the student council and as a student athlete, participates in indoor track and tennis. Prior to the pandemic, Westfall participated in various school organizations, including SADD, HOSA, Debate Club and Turning Point USA. She is a past president and vice president of the Class of 2023. Outside of school, she has volunteered with the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and the Branford Community Dining Room. Each month, the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. When safe to do so, the student is invited to attend a Thursday night dinner meeting at the Twin Pines Diner Restaurant and is presented with a certificate and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1,000 Jack Leary Memorial scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year. The East Haven Rotary Club, organized on March 3, 1939, is celebrating its 83rd year.
