Here are the top four stories in New Orleans today: New Orleans hotels are reporting 80% occupancy for Mardi Gras weekend, and while it's not quite pre-pandemic levels, the city is still preparing for a huge influx of tourists. (WWLTV.com) NOPD is searching for a 36-year-old suspect, April Butler, for allegedly shooting at a mother and child after an argument in New Orleans on Saturday afternoon. (WBRZ) A driver was carjacked and run over by a 15-year-old in Harahan Saturday. The suspect then fled the scene resulting in a car chase by NOPD. The suspect eventually lost control and crashed and was then taken to the hospital for treatment. (NOLA.com) The Louisiana Supreme Court has denied a restraining order on COVID mandates brought against Mayor Cantrel and members of the New Orleans Health Department by over 100 plaintiffs. COVID restrictions will remain in effect at least through Mardi Gras.
