By John Gibson, WNIN February 14, 2022 Another COVID-19 related death and more than 160 new infections have been recorded in Vanderburgh County. The Indiana Department of Health tallied the county's 557th death of the pandemic. The agency also added 162 infections on the Thursday dashboard. That number has been declining recently. The county's seven-day positivity rate fell to about 25 percent. No new COVID-related deaths were added in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties. The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana was down slightly to 223, with less than 19 percent of intensive care beds available. Statewide, Indiana added 30 COVID-related deaths and more than 2,900 new infections. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
