ST. CHARLES, IL — After 94 years in St. Charles, the Blue Goose Market in St. Charles will be closing.
Blue Market first opened in 1928 and is known by local residents as "The Goose." Rumors of The Goose closing have been circulating in recent days, and Paul Lencioni, owner of the Blue Goose Market, confirmed Friday the family-owned grocery store would soon shut its doors for good.
"The Blue Goose has given St. Charles everything it has to give," he said in a video message posted on Facebook Friday. The grocery store will have closeout sales and is expected to close in "weeks, maybe a month or two," Lencioni said.
He didn't give an exact date for the stores' final day open in town but said it should be closed by summer.
