PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto City Council selected its four priorities for 2022 at its annual retreat last week. The wide-ranging priorities, which mirror last year's priorities, are: Economic recovery and transition, including a cohesive vision for commercial cores Protection and adaptation regarding climate change Housing for social and economic balance Community health and safety — specifically crime, mental health, air quality, noise and sense of belonging At the council's meeting on Monday, it was set to discuss the future of the Cubberley Community Center and an update on Pets in Need. It was also set to review an independent police auditor's report on the police department's use of force report from Dec. 2020 to Dec. 2021 and the review of police investigations conducted between July 2020 and July 2021.
