Press release from the PurplePTSD: K. Joudry 2022-02-13 Admittedly, this one is going to be a pretty short list, but here goes. There are indeed some former Vikings playing in the Super Bowl. Take a peak at the Bengals roster and you'll likely have two names stand out: Riley Reiff and Trae Waynes. Reiff, unfortunately, won't be playing since he's on the IR. Waynes, in contrast, ought to find his way onto the field. If I were the Rams, I'd ensure Cooper Kupp gets onto Waynes whenever I get the chance. Kupp should be able to find room to operate with his quickness and deception. One thing to consider: the chances of Waynes sticking around Cincinnati following this season seem very small. He will be the team's highest-paid player if everything remains the same. He'll have close to a $16 million cap hit, but a cut would free just under $11 million. Expect him to be a free agent. Might Minnesota be interested at the right price? The Rams roster, at least as far as I can tell, doesn't boast any former Vikings in the Super Bowl. What LA can offer, though, is a future Viking (and perhaps even more than one). Kevin O'Connell won't be calling the plays. Even still, it'd be safe to say that he's had a strong influence on the offensive side of things. Ideally, he'll be coming to Minnesota with a Super Bowl ring on his finger (or, at the very least, with a Super Bowl ring being sent in the mail). There's also something to be said for a player like Austin Corbett, who would go a long way in solidifying the Vikings' OL. Vikings fans can add a little extra excitement to the viewing experience by keeping an eye on players who may end up in purple next year. Enjoy the big game, folks.
