BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man has been charged after a dog was shot and killed during a "domestic disturbance" in Bolingbrook Saturday night, according to Bolingbrook Police.
Police responded to a home in the 200 block of Creekside Drive at 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers were told that a man inside the home was possibly armed with a gun and that a dog inside the home had been shot, police said.
Officers knocked and called inside the home numerous times without a response, police said. Police eventually broke into the residence to ensure the well-being of any occupants, police said.
When they entered, several people were inside the home, and there was a dead dog with a gunshot wound, police said.
Police arrested David Saldana, 40, who was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, child endangerment and cruelty to animals.
He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
