Description
CALABASAS, CA — Right before Biden and Trump go head to head, City Council candidates Susan Fredericks-Ploussard, Peter Kraut, Alicia Weintraub, and Dennis Washburn will have a chance to answer questions from the public.
The four candidates — Fredericks-Ploussard, a dentist; Kraut, an engineer and current vice-president of the Planning Commission; Weintraub, current mayor and five-year councilmember; and Washburn, a retired marketing executive, long-time councilmember, and current planning commissioner — will answer eight pre-submitted questions via Zoom from whatever location they choose.
In past municipal elections, the public was invited to attend in-person debates at Founder's Hall.
The forum, moderated for the first time by communications consultant and former CSU Northridge journalism professor Lori Baker-Schena, will stick to a strict schedule. Each candidate will give a two-minute introduction, and will have two minutes to respond to each of the eight questions. They will then each have a three-minute closer.
The debate will air on Zoom and CTV Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m., ending just as the presidential debate begins. The password is 020904. After Tuesday, it can be viewed online here.
