Here are the top three stories today in Grand Rapids: A Grand Rapids medical startup aims to eradicate cancer within hours of a patient's diagnosis. Bold Advanced Medical Future Health has received $500,000 in funding from the New Community Transformation Fund towards its efforts of using novel radiopharmaceuticals to identify and eliminate a patient's cancer. According to officials with the Bold Advanced Medical Future Health, patients will only experience fatigue and possible vomiting from the cancer treatment. (WOODTV.com)A Grand Rapids man has been sentenced to 21 to 36 years in prison for killing another man when he was 18. Lonnie Sanders pleaded no contest to the second-degree murder charge and must pay $15,500 in addition to the time served. Victim Michael Eastwood died at the hospital after being shot in his chest on Dec. 6, 2020. (WOODTV.com)The City of Grand Rapids is encouraging residents to clean the catch basins near their homes. The catch basins fill with debris when snow and ice melt. Routine cleaning of the catch basins will ensure that street flooding does not occur and helps protect the environment, said city officials in a statement. There are currently over 17,000 catch basins in the Grand Rapids area.
