All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. Feb. 12: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove at 1:34 p.m. A man asked an employee of a store in Smith Haven Mall if he could view a gold chain, police said. Once the chain was out of the case, the man took it and left, police said. Police did not know which store the theft happened at.Feb. 11: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Veterans Memorial Highway from Feb. 19, 2019, at 8 a.m. A man reported that, while he was incarcerated, someone made withdrawals from his bank account, police said. The theft was reported to Suffolk police on Feb. 11.Feb. 10: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Holly Drive in Smithtown at 10:16 p.m. A person sent someone an explicit photograph of themselves on social media, police said. The person who received the explicit photograph then threatened to send the photograph to multiple people if the sender did not pay money, police said. The person refused to send the money, and the photo was sent to family and friends, police said.Feb. 9: Grand larceny (second-degree) was reported on Wicks Lane in Head of the Harbor from Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. A 2021 Mercedes was stolen from outside of a home, police said.Feb. 9: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Beech Street in Lake Grove from Feb. 8 at 6:23 p.m. A person withdrew money from someone else's bank account without permission, police said.
