CALABASAS, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories. This submission comes from Vivian Deutsch, who nominated her friend Meirav Ben-Gal of Calabasas. Name: Meirav Ben-Gal Home town: Calabasas, CA Hero's job: Volunteer Relationship to nominee: She volunteered to shop for groceries for us during the pandemic because we are in a high-risk age group. Reason for recognition: She is reliable and always ready to help. One thing to know: She doesn't have to do this. She is not family or even a friend.
