Drexxel says "Happy Valentines Day" ❤️ This 9 week old Doberman boy is finally looking for someone special that has room in their hearts for a special needs puppy! He is still receiving therapy at this time but we are looking for people who are interested in taking this boy home. He started his life as a "swimmer puppy" (**Swimmer puppy syndrome is a rare condition in which a puppy is unable to physically stand or walk, but instead lies flat on its chest and abdomen with hind legs extended behind and its forelegs extended to the front and/or sides. The only motion the puppy is capable of is paddling its limbs as though it is swimming. **) He now uses his front legs 90% and is still learning to use his rear legs which are about 50%ish. Along with his swimmers condition he was left unattended with his mom in a kiddie pool and was repeatedly stepped on. This caused damaged to his spine. the vet diagnosed him with not only swimmers syndrome but a condition called Kyphosis which is a large "knot" on his spine, past that, towards his rear he has nerve damage. That is why he is still only 50%ish in the rear legs. He is still progressing everyday, walking and standing more and more! He is working against very big odds!!!! Although he has these conditions he is like every other puppy! He is super smart and has already learned the come here, no,, hungry?, snack, shake command, and speak. Specific to him he's learning the words stand and walk. He is also potty training. He loves food! Which make training a breeze, toys and other animals. We are hoping for him to able to get around at least 75% on his own as he grows but he will need a dedicated person, who can see past these disabilities and see him for the amazing puppy he is and is willing to be the person he can lean on! (He currently has a wheel chair that he hates lol and will soon grow out of but he isn't using it but may need one to help to aid in his independent mobility in the future) Are you or anyone you know interested in adopting a special needs puppy? Please message for more information.
