I'm a boomer; I'm 70. I read a quote from some guy three or four thousand years ago, griping about how the upcoming generation was going to take the world to hell in a handbasket. The lines between "generations" are fuzzy. But, if anyone, OUR parents were "the greatest generation". They went through a full-blown depression, fought a world war on two fronts, developed the greatest economy the world has ever seen, and put a man on the moon. And they gave us the Frisbee. The problem is technology, and the internet. EVERYBODY is an expert on EVERYTHING. I'm not going to push the stale old cliches about living in Mom's basement, playing games and surfing the net all day. but the fact is that face-to-face discussion is out, and opinions coming from social media and extremist websites is in. In my estimation, the younger generation hasn't had time to become "older and wiser". It's a question of how locked into their thinking they'll already be before they would otherwise have better critical thinking skills. I'm kinda' glad I won't be around to see America in 2040.
