The Austin Organics Operations Manager manages the organics production operations, production staff and the production processes as well as the Garden-Ville stores within the assigned territory. This position also serves as the subject matter expert on organics for internal departments. The responsibilities for this position include management of all grinding operations; determining production schedule for organic materials; ensuring site compliance with local, state and federal regulations; compiling compliance reports; staffing and training; quality control; meeting sales expectations, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline from an accredited college and three years of experience within that discipline; [the degree can be substituted with experience on a year-for-year basis with a maximum substitution of 4 years];
Familiarity with operating production equipment, e.g., loaders, grinders, screens, bagging equipment, etc.;
Experience with the composting process;
Highly organized and proficient in time management;
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook;
Leadership, training, and presentation skills;
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English;
Experience in supervising or managing sales staff;
Basic math skills; and
Must successfully complete Compost Management Training Program within 12 months of employment.
Five years of successful composting operations management experience; and
Experience managing composting operations at multiple locations
Valid class C driver’s license
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations.
