Description
Section 23 of the Bill of Rights gives all citizens of Texas the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, specifically "Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State..."; I have been to six gun dealers since I turned 18 and none of them are willing to give me a gun or sell me a gun cheap. I have little money but I do have an absolute right to a gun. I contacted by local official but they did not help. I then contacted a policeman I have known since I was little. The policeman told me he did not know where I would go, but he would look into it. A few days later he said he searched but could not find any agency that would help me. He suggested I get a job, and save up the money.
This is ridiculous. I can't work because my benefits might be cut. My mom gets food stamps and both she and my sister get subsidized health insurance. All I want is a gun so I can defend my family from all the crazies out there. A friend offered to loan me one, but I don't want his as I think he stole it, and I don't want someone's stolen gun.
A few years ago, my brother got arrested, and the State bought him a lawyer. Why won't the state get me a gun so I can defend myself and my family? Our Bill of Rights is worthless if it won't help a poor lil black boy like me get a gun.
