Description
Atlas is a 4 year-old Great Dane. He is a Merle, grey with dark grey spots, and papered. He is about 165 lbs and neutered. I got him from a couple that couldn't keep him, he was still a puppy. Even at four he's still a puppy, just a gigantic one. He is a big goofball, still running and playing around all the time. I am just overwhelmed with stress now, taking a job that pays less and working more, I feel that if I am able to find a better place for him, I would let him go. I will check personal and vet references. I hope that he will be able to go to a home that has more time and able to afford his check-ups. He is overdue now for his yearly shots. With that, I cannot afford to get him to the vet and the groomer right now and it's impossible for me to bathe him. He will only go to someone who knows Great Danes or at least large breeds. He isn't aggressive but gets excited to see other dogs and when he wants to play he can hurt another dog because of his size. One time he didn't see my mom for about a month and he and my other dog were playing ball with her, he got jealous and they did fight. I have not seen that type of behavior from him since then but know that it could be an issue. My other dog was the alpha and I believe Atlas was just becoming alpha being twice the size of the other. As of right now, he has a giant crate, two elevated dog beds, leashes, huge dog bowls, and a harness. I also have a metal garbage can that I keep his food in that is half full at this time. He is a counter surfer big time. He can't be left alone without being crated or he will chew things like furniture or stairs. I am not asking anything for him except a contract saying that if it doesn't work out, that he be brought back. And with him going for free, please understand that I will be extremely selective on who he goes with. Please text only for now since I'll be working but I can text pictures of him and we can talk when I'm not at work.
