Join PIONEERS Run Crew as we celebrate Black excellence this Black History Month through a running-based scavenger hunt! HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH from PIONEERS Run Crew! Last year we supported Black-owned businesses in the Boston area and created a format where people could explore different neighborhoods throughout the city while doing so. This year we want the focus to be on telling Black stories and honoring contributions and achievements of members of the Black community - while of course having some fun doing so! That's why we are excited to invite you to: CELEBRATING BLACK CREATORS, A Black History Month Scavenger Hunt! Join us 11am - 1pm, Saturday, February 26th at Malcolm X Park. Teams of 4 runners will be created day-of and each team will be on a mission to find and take photos of as many items from our scavenger hunt checklist that includes items and landmarks that celebrate Black excellence in and around the Roxbury community over the span of 90 minutes. There is a prize available for the winning team - so come ready for some friendly competition!! We are asking that all participants provide a suggested donation of $15 but note that it is not mandatory. All proceeds will be donated to The Clubhouse Network, whose "mission is to provide a creative and safe out-of-school learning environment where young people from underserved communities work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop new skills, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology." They have several locations in Boston including 2 in Roxbury and 1 in Dorchester We look forward to seeing you on the 26th!!
